Luba Goy

Luba was born in Europe and raised in Ottawa with a firm hold on her Ukrainian heritage.  A graduate of Canada’s National Theatre School, Luba took to the stage at Stratford before becoming the sole female performer on the hilarious comedy show, Royal Canadian Air Farce.  After many years on CBC Radio, the show has completed its 6th season on CBC TV.

For over two decades, Canadians have turned to the Royal Canadian Air Farce for laughter, political zingers, social commentary and general award-winning nonsense and silliness.  Over the years, Air Farce has performed a series of live comedy and musical concerts with symphony orchestras throughout Canada.  Luba loves music and plays the accordion.

The contribution Air Farce makes to the world of comedy and the lives of Canadians has been honoured many times over.  The Air Farce team has won a dozen ACTRA awards, a JUNO, the Maclean’s Honour Roll, Honourary Degrees and were the first Canadians to Roger, Don, John and Luba were each awarded Honourary Doctor of Law degrees from Brock University.  Luba received the prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award from Women in Film and Television 1996.

In the summer of 1997, Luba starred in the North American premiere of the British comedy Silly Cow, by Ben Elton, at the Montreal "Just for Laughs" Comedy Festival.
